According to Google, a new Google Maps feature has begun to appear that calculates the amount you will have to pay in tolls to drive a particular route in Android and iOS apps. Android police report seeing the new toll price on the app, though it’s not yet visible on a couple of devices we’ve tested along the same route. The toll feature was first announced by Google in April.
Google says the toll price shown is based on “reliable information from local toll authorities” and takes into account season tickets and time of day when calculating the total cost. There is also a “toll avoidance” switch when calculating routes. Google Maps has been able to warn you when to pay a general toll on a trip, but has not been able to calculate what that toll could be.
For the planner friend – this new feature is for you.
Now, when planning your large and small trips, you can check the estimated toll prices before choosing a route and spend what you save on road snacks. pic.twitter.com/Lfy8s2TXQU

According to Google, the feature is available for “nearly 2,000” highways in the U.S., India, Japan, and Indonesia for its iOS and Android apps. He says he plans to add support to more countries “soon.”
