Republican House minority leader Kevin McCarthy was booed Saturday afternoon in Casper, Wyoming, during a Donald Trump rally. The interpellations sounded almost immediately when McCarthy appeared practically to support the main rival Harriet Hageman, lover of the MAGA (and endorsed by Trump), of Liz Cheney. “Hi, Wyoming. I’m Kevin McCarthy,” he said as Trump supporters began to boo him. McCarthy’s office did not return The Daily Beast’s request for comment Saturday evening. Last month, tensions between Trump and McCarthy escalated after The New York Times published tapes of the minority leader promising to push Trump to resign as president after the January 6 Capitol riot.
