City won two goals to beat Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, having trailed 3-1 before drawing against Newcastle United the previous Sunday.

Speaking at his usual pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday’s meeting with Nottingham Forest, Guardiola warned his team they could drop points if they continue to concede the lead.

“Yes, we must try to avoid it,” he said.

“For once it’s good because in the past, in recent years, whenever we were down it was difficult for us to come back.

“We showed that last season and this season we can do it, but we have to try to avoid it as much as possible, get in touch to try to manage this situation. It’s risky. One day we won’t be able to come back.”
