Hail, rain and storm warnings cause heat during the Glastonbury weekend

The UK’s warm season is coming to an end today as weather warnings of storms in the south of England and East Wales.

The Met office issued a yellow warning from 10 a.m. to midnight and storms are expected to erupt this afternoon and early evening.

Meteorologists say they expected strong winds, hail and lightning, with some places with up to 60mm of rain in a few hours, creating a small chance of flooding.

The storms are expected to affect an area stretching from South Sheffield in South Yorkshire to Brighton in East Sussex. “While most places are likely to be missed, where there are storms, there is a possibility that in some places up to 40 mm of rain may fall in about an hour and between 40 and 60 mm.
