Halifax man arrested after crashing a stolen vehicle against an RCMP vehicle

The RCMP has arrested a 32-year-old man from Halifax after he drove a stolen vehicle into an RCMP vehicle and fled.

Christopher Wade Ross is in custody and is scheduled to appear Monday in Shubenacadie Provincial Court.

He faces charges that include possession of property obtained for crime, dangerous operation of a vehicle and escape from police.

The East Hants District RCMP responded to a report of a man drinking in a vehicle parked in Elmsdale on July 1st. They saw a man fleeing in a vehicle.

When he was found on a nearby road, the man was circling his vehicle and intentionally drove in reverse and collided with an RCMP vehicle, according to police. He fled and the police did not pursue him.

They found his vehicle in the evening after a member of the public in Upper Rawdon reported the vehicle. The RCMP learned that the vehicle was stolen in Truro last week.

Police arrested a man Sunday morning after receiving calls about a man walking along the side of the road in the Rawdon area.

There were no injuries and the investigation continues.

The East Hants District RCMP asks anyone with information to call the East Hants District RCMP at 902-883-7077 or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers.
