Hamilton police are continuing to investigate a number of threats at local schools. Additional threats have been received at several schools today. The threats are similar and involve written messages inside school buildings.
A 14-year-old girl has been arrested after a threat in St. Jean de Brebeuf. She was charged with trespassing and was released on bail. Police expect more arrests in the coming days.
Hamilton police recognize the importance of school safety and how a threat of this nature can be difficult for students, staff and their families. Police take incidents like these very seriously and will continue to work closely with school boards to help identify those responsible and file appropriate criminal charges when a suspect is identified.
