When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex here plan to “keep it simple,” those familiar with their travel plans told ITV News. They will be staying at Frogmore Cottage, their home near Windsor Castle.
The Sussex were expected on Friday for Thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral, and at some of the other key events of the weekend, such as the pop concert in front of Buckingham Palace.
But they have agreed not to have their own engagement program while in the UK to avoid overshadowing the major celebrations of the Queen’s historic 70th anniversary.
The royal assistants hope that the Sussex will adhere to the script during their visit here and not go off the track.

Buckingham Palace has already announced that Harry and Meghan will not be joining the Queen on the main balcony after Thursday’s Trooping the Color parade.
The queen decided that only the working members of the company, such as Charles and Camilla, William and Kate, and Edward and Sophie, could accompany her on the balcony at that time.
In April, Meghan returned to the United Kingdom for the first time since her explosive television interview with Oprah Winfrey in which she alleged that some members of the royal family had been racist.
The Duchess of Sussex saw the Queen in Windsor on a private visit with Harry as they both made their way to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands.
But Meghan has not made any public engagement in the UK since she and Harry left for California in March 2020.
The Duke and Duchess travel with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
Archie was born in the UK, but has not been here since his parents moved to Canada in December 2019.
Lilibet has never been to Britain and has never met her grandfather, Prince Charles, or her great-grandmother, the Queen.
Harry and Meghan reach a financial agreement with Crown Estate and pay the rent for their Frogmore property to keep it as their official UK residence.
