Harry Styles says he is “devastated” and “heartbroken” after a shooting at a Copenhagen mall that has left three dead and four critically injured.
The former One Direction star was scheduled to perform on Sunday night at the Royal Arena, south of the Danish capital, as part of his Love On Tour shows.
He canceled the show after a gunman opened fire less than a mile from the site, apparently picking up his victims at random and acting alone, according to Copenhagen chief inspector Soren Thomassen.
A large crowd had already gathered inside the arena when the cancellation of the show was announced and fans had to be asked to leave.
Harry’s message to the fans
Styles tweeted to his 37.9 million followers: “I have a broken heart along with the people of Copenhagen. I love this city. The people are so warm and full of love.
“I am devastated by the victims, their families and all those who suffer.
“I’m sorry we couldn’t be together. Please take care of each other.”
The 28-year-old singer signed his tweet, “H”.
Live Nation, the promoter of the Styles tour, said in a statement: “Tonight’s concert with Harry Styles has been canceled by the Danish police leadership.
“We are all really devastated by today’s events and our thoughts are with the victims and their families.
“We are studying future possibilities for the show and hope to be able to give direct information to ticket buyers as soon as possible.”
Three people were killed and four are in critical condition following the attack on the Field Mall, according to Danish police.
A 22-year-old man, who has been described as an “ethnic Dane”, was arrested near the scene.
So far, officers have said their motives were unclear and there is nothing to suggest terrorism. They said he had a history of mental health problems.
The suspect will go to court this Monday with preliminary homicide charges.
Following the incident, a reception with Danish Crown Prince Frederik, to be held on the royal yacht moored at Sonderborg in southern Denmark, was also canceled.
Pearl Jam and Queen + Adam Lambert will perform at the Copenhagen Arena in the coming weeks.

Love On Tour is damn?
Styles ’shows have faced a number of setbacks. In 2020 he had to take his Love On Tour program around the world before the pandemic stopped the live music industry.
His rescheduled tour began in September 2021 in Las Vegas before heading to the United States, and the European tour began in Glasgow in June 2022.

However, on the first day of the European stage of the tour, a fan fell from the first level at Glasgow’s Ibrox Stadium during the singer’s concert, and fell on other people in the crowd. No one was seriously injured.
His next show will take place on Tuesday in Paris.
His most recent album, Harry’s House, was well received by critics and the lead single As It Was recently claimed its 10th week at number one in the UK.
Styles is currently dating actress and director Olivia Wilde and is starring in her latest film, the psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling.
