In a press release issued today by the Greater Sudbury Police Service, it is noted that they received a call about an assault after the events, at approximately 10.30pm.

“The information provided was that two people had been in a verbal argument where a man made racially charged comments towards another customer that caused a physical altercation between the two people outside the store,” according to the press release .

“Due to the hate-based nature of this incident, the matter was assigned to a Detective of the Major Crimes Section of our Criminal Investigation Division who is specially trained as a crime investigator. hatred and prejudice / motivated by hatred “.

As a result of this investigation, a 31-year-old man has been charged with the following offenses under the Canada Penal Code:
