The new owner of HBO Max, Warner Bros. Discovery has been playing fast and loose with the streaming service’s content recently in the aftermath of the messy megamerger. While it has been removing shows and movies from the service to save money, and even canceling late-stage projects, it is trying to make up for lost subscriptions by offering a new deal to bring subscribers on board.
New and returning subscribers can get 30 percent off a one-year subscription to HBO Max when they sign up and pay in advance for the entire year before October 30. This drops the ad-free plan to $104.99 from $149.99 per year (equivalent to $8.75 per month), and the ad-supported plan from $99.99 to $69.99 (equivalent to at $5.83 per month).
It may be an obvious attempt to shut people up for an entire year, but it covers next week’s premiere and the season of Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon and more, at least what hasn’t been revealed yet. has canceled

Through October 30, 2022, you can save 30 percent on a one-year prepaid subscription to HBO Max. Normally $149.99 for the ad-free plan, you’ll pay $104.99, which is like paying $8.75 a month. The ad-supported tier normally costs $99.99 per year and is now $69.99
It’s hard to predict what the future service combining HBO Max and Discovery Plus will look like, but it’s hard to imagine that this app could get much worse than HBO Max’s current one. In the meantime, if you’ve been interested in HBO Max anyway, you might as well save as much as you can.
