A serious collision that left one man seriously injured has forced all lanes to be closed in a westerly direction on Highway 401 in Pickering.
It happened on a stretch of highway before Brock Road, shortly after 5:30 p.m., Friday.
An Ornge air ambulance spokesman said they were called to the highway for a motorcycle collision.
Ornge said a man was taken to a Toronto hospital with critical injuries.
The cause of the collision is unknown.
Ontario Provincial Police have closed lanes west of the freeway on Westney Road. There is no estimated time when the lanes will reopen.
“Great delays in the area. The investigation is ongoing,” the OPP sergeant said. said Kerry Schmidt. “I hope this closure lasts for a while.”
