The new Hitman 3 map, Ambrose Island, will arrive as free DLC for all gamers on July 26, IO Interactive announced in its July roadmap. This is the first new map of the game since it was released last January.
Judging by the trailer, Ambrose Island looks like a gloomy tropical place run by a rebellious outcast. IO Interactive says the map is a “fully explorable sand location” with a “hidden cove, home to a dangerous union of pirates operating in the Andaman Sea and many hidden secrets.” It is also expected to come with a list of new goals, challenges and rewards to unlock.
IO Interactive first viewed the map, codenamed “Rocky” at the time, as part of the second year that was unveiled earlier this year. In May, the gaming studio announced that it had brought forward the release date of Ambrose Island to make up for the delay of Hitman 3’s next roguelike mode, called Freelancer. The new mode was originally scheduled to come out in the spring of 2022, but is now supposed to arrive in the second half of this year.
IO Interactive also described a number of other changes to its roadmap. It is being changed at the Himmapan Hotel as a free rotation location for the game until July 17, and has added Vicente Murillo as the current elusive target, with Wen Ts’ai returning on July 15.
