THIS WEEKEND: THE RISK OF HEAT AND STORM
Another hot, humid weekend for Ontario, with warnings of heat in some areas of the south, including the city of Toronto. Daytime highs will be at 30-degree lows through Sunday.
Warm, dry, sunny conditions are expected on Saturday with a very high UV rating in southern Ontario. So be sure to bring sunscreen if you go outdoors.
Meanwhile, storms will continue to advance north of Lake Superior until Saturday afternoon, causing the risk of heavy hail and strong winds in parts of northern Ontario.
The storm-carrying front will move south through the province as we head to Sunday. On Sunday morning, the front will approach the shores of Lake Huron and the Bay of Georgia, giving isolated clouds and showers in southern Ontario.
There will be a risk of storms at noon, which will continue until the early hours of the evening. There will be chances of locally heavy rain and strong gusts of wind embedded within the storms.
However, there will be no wear and tear on Sunday as storms will spread and many areas will not see rain. But there is potential for rapid emerging storms.
Some parts of the region really need a little rain, but most places will miss out on much-needed rain. Storms will be more widespread throughout the rural country.
Conditions will still be wet on Sunday during the day. However, as the cold front passes through the evening, extreme heat relief is expected on Monday.

Then, temperatures will tend to a trend close to the seasons in the middle of next week with a risk of storms.
Meteorologists are also looking at the potential for one or two days of hot, humid weather over the weekend, including Canada Day. Heat is more likely in southern Ontario, but there is less confidence for the Ottawa Valley.
However, an approaching cold front is expected to pose a threat of storms followed by cooler weather for the rest of the long weekend.
