With the release of EA SPORTS F1 22 on July 1, it turns out that there are several ways to play the game before its formal release date.

One way is to pay extra money, another is to be a subscriber and a third is a premium demo experience. Or, you know, wait for the standard edition as we suspect most players will. Either way, here are all the ways to buy F1 22, starting later this week.

F1 22 Champions Edition

If you buy the Champions Edition of F1 22, you can access the game from June 28, 2022.

The Champions Edition also includes additional content:

  • Two safety cars that can be driven: Aston Martin Vantage Safety Car and Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Safety Car (only available in Time Trial mode and on display in your F1 Life home)
  • New MyTeam Icons: Available in Race mode. It includes drivers such as Jacques Villeneuve, Nico Hulkenburg and Mark Webber
  • F1 22 New Era content: exclusive livery, helmet and clothing (suit, cap and t-shirt) inspired by the 2022 New Era F1 car
  • F1 Life Starter Pack: unique furniture / wall art to customize your home F1 Life and a fun t-shirt for your avatar
  • Miami Theme Content: Experience the Glamor and Splendor of the New Miami International Speedway Circuit
  • 18,000 PitCoins: Game currency that can be used to purchase character modifications (hats, helmets, gloves, and costumes), free, and even team sponsors through the item store.

Of course, the Champions Edition will be available on all platforms and offers users access three days in advance to the above benefits, giving users a taste of F1 22 before it actually hits the market.

A couple of warnings to that, though. The Champions Edition is only available in digital format and is $ 79.99 / £ 69.99 when purchased on Steam PC and $ 79.99 / £ 79.99 on PS4 / PS5, Xbox One / Xbox Series X | S , as opposed to $ 59.99 / £ 49.99 on PC Steam, $ 59.99 / £ 59.99 on PS4 / Xbox One and £ 69.99 / £ 69.99 on PS5 / Xbox series for standard edition.

An additional advantage: the Champions edition includes the double right. So if you shop for PS5 or Xbox Series, you will get the game on PS4 and Xbox One for free.

EA Play test

EA Play subscribers can play 10 hours of F1 22 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox starting June 28th. Curious fact: with the purchase of a subscription to EA Play, you will save 10% when booking F1 22.

EA Play costs $ 3.99 / £ 3.99 per month, or save 50% by buying an annual subscription for $ 19.99 / £ 19.99, available on all three platforms. EA Play is also included at the top level of Xbox Game Pass.

EA Play Pro

EA Play Pro is a PC-only subscription in addition to EA Play. Both subscriptions have access to an EA game library, but it’s likely that the non-Pro subscription will only receive F1 22 in eight to twelve months. Pro has been receiving new EA games since its release.

It costs $ 14.99 / £ 14.99 per month (save 44% by buying annually for $ 89.99 / £ 89.99 per year) and subscribers will have the Champions edition on the 28th plus a package of Miami themed content, such as the car livery below. You will also receive professional level rewards.

An important difference with EA Play Pro is that members will have unlimited play on F1 22 during the early access period, while EA Play Trial only allows up to 10 hours of play.

Standard edition

If you expect the standard edition to arrive on July 1, you’ll still receive the base game, F1 22 New Era content, the F1 Life starter pack, and 5,000 PitCoins for use in the item store.

You won’t have three days of early access and the new MyTeam icons won’t be available either.

Whether you get on the grid early or choose to be patient, we hope you enjoy playing the highly anticipated F1 22!
