“Human remains” have been found in a forest in Walsall which has been cordoned off by police. Forensic searches are being carried out at the scene near Cuckoo’s Nook, Sutton Road.
It comes after what police believe to be human remains were found at the scene shortly before 4pm yesterday (June 4). More searches are now taking place in the area.
The discovery is being treated as “unexplained” and the incident has been referred to a coroner.

A West Midlands police spokeswoman said: “We are investigating the discovery of what are believed to be human remains in a forest near Cuckoos Nook, Sutton Road, Walsall shortly before 4pm yesterday (June 4). The area has been cordoned off for the forensic recovery of the remains and subsequent searches.
“The discovery is being treated as unexplained at this time, and we have referred this incident to the coroner.”
Cuckoo’s Nook and the Dingle is classified as a Local Nature Reserve (NRL) and a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC).
