Game companies sometimes miss the mark when it comes to pre-order bonuses. A recent example: the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games.
To bring you up to speed, the Amazon Video Games Twitter account announced that customers who pre-order Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will receive a code for ten potions, ten antidotes, and three revised ones to use in the game.
Since all three items are easily obtained through the game, people pointed them out and laughed at them. They probably would have thrown tomatoes or even large rocks if that was an option.
Nowadays, people expect a little something, something like a treat to book games. What’s the point of doing anything if you don’t get a little gift? Especially if it’s money? The good players of the world deserve a treat, I say!
While this is an issue for Nintendo to sort out, I thought I’d jump in with my ideas for pre-order bonuses that might be a better deal than easily collectable in-game items.
Please… For God’s sake… Check it out.
A living rat

Everyone wants a rat. I go to the street with strangers, take a live rat out of my pocket and say: “For you?” and they always catch the rat and thank me. Considering there are so many different colors of rats in Pokemon, and I’m sure there will be 40 more in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it would only make sense for a live rat to be a pre-order bonus for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet .
three dollars

Okay, be honest. When have you not needed three dollars? Sometimes if you buy a washing machine, the people who made it will give you some of the money back. All you have to do is go to their website, fill out a form, call someone, give them all your personal information, go to an undisclosed location, meet a business elf, get hit with a baseball bat by the elf, pass out. for 20 minutes, and the company elf will give you the refund.
I forget what I was going for here, but I think a reasonable three bucks would be a nice pre-order bonus for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
A sexy little peanut

Come on. You know you want that hot girl. Everyone wants this hot girl. He poses, winks at you and tells you secrets that only a peanut would know. I think this would be a nice bonus for pre-ordering Pokemon Scarlet and Violet because there really isn’t enough representation of newbies in Pokemon as a whole, let alone representation of hot little peanuts like this little monster here.

I think this would be a nice pre-order bonus if you bought both Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games instead of just one. The dual pack should come with two live rats instead of one, because what are you going to do with a rat and two games, you know what I mean? You know what I mean.
A human hand

The game is so crazy. Sometimes you’re just playing so much that one of your hands turns blue and numb and then stops working. Fortunately, if you get a human hand as a pre-order bonus for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you could play your Pokemon game twice as long. This is a great tool for any gamer, so I think people would love Pokemon to come with one of these.
