TOWNER COUNTY, ND – The identities of the four people killed in a murder-suicide Monday, August 29 at a farm west of Maza, North Dakota, have been released.
Authorities have identified the four individuals as: Douglas Dulmage, 56, Justin Bracken, 34, and Richard Bracken, 64, of Leeds, North Dakota; and Robert Bracken, 59, of Cando, North Dakota.
According to a news release from the Towner County Sheriff’s Office, the weapon recovered from the scene was a .357 caliber revolver. More information will be released in the coming days once the forensic medical examinations have been completed.
Officers were dispatched to a wheat field in the 6100 block of Northeast 66th Street around 6 p.m. Monday for a report of four unresponsive individuals. Authorities found four bodies with gunshot wounds upon arrival.
Evidence at the scene indicates the incident was a murder-suicide. The .357 caliber revolver was located in the possession of one of the bodies.
The motive for the shooting is still under investigation. Sheriff Andy Hillier told the Forum News Service on Tuesday that the four are believed to have worked together.
