IFixit now has genuine repair parts for Google Pixels, 2 to 6 Pro

In April, Google announced plans to join the growing list of technology companies working with iFixit. Repair experts distribute parts and tools for people interested in doing DIY electronics repairs, and as of today, the iFixit store offers genuine Google parts for various Pixel phones.

You can ask for what you need to fix everything from the Pixel 2 to the latest Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, as well as the tools to install them and step-by-step guides to guide you through the process. (Spare parts are also available if you want to fix an OG Pixel or Nexus device.)

Now, if you have a broken screen or a broken charging port, your options are not just to find a repair shop or throw your device in the trash. iFixit has all kinds of repair kits and while they are more expensive for newer devices, replacing a Pixel 6 Pro screen for a genuine new one will cost $ 199.99 per kit, they vary greatly, especially depending on the age. Cheaper parts for older devices should help keep these phones viable as long as you feel comfortable with the Android software update assistance they receive.

IFixit deals for parts and tools distribution already include companies like Microsoft, HTC and even Valve’s Steam Deck. There’s also a partnership with Samsung in the process, and while we’ll have to wait for more details on it, it seems unlikely to require a 79-pound kit delivery.
