Former Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has given a concise answer while talking for the first time about her public breakup with longtime boyfriend David Panton.
Ms. Bishop appeared on the Today program Monday to talk about her role as an ambassador with the Perth Mineral Resources Limited mining services company. As part of that role, Mrs. Bishop faced Hollywood heavyweights Kate Walsh and Hugh Jackman in a recent promotional video.
But before anything else was discussed, hosts Karl Stefanovic and Allison Langdon asked him how he was doing after their relationship ended in such a public way.

“I’m fine, but I wonder how you’re both,” the former Liberal member of Curtin said in response.

Mr. Panton ended his relationship with Mrs. Bishop earlier this month after the couple had been together for eight years.
NSW real estate developer told Mrs Bishop on Friday 1 July that the relationship had ended at Eastbank restaurant in Macquarie St, Sydney, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
The duo were at a gala dinner with Prince Charles the week the break-up occurred.

“I will focus on living in Manly and Melbourne in the foreseeable future,” Panton said in a statement to the newspaper.
“I wish Julie all the best in her ongoing stellar career.”
Bishop’s people had previously said they would not comment on the matter.
