IN THE PHOTOS: Huge response from fire service to fire at 7bone restaurant in Southampton

PHOTOS show the full extent of the response to a fire in Portswood Road, Southampton.

The crews were called shortly before 8pm to the 7bone restaurant.

Firefighters in St Mary’s, Hightown, Redbridge, Eastleigh, Hamble and Winchester are fighting the fire and the road has been closed.

The Hampshire fire and rescue service said: “The road has been closed and local residents are advised to keep their windows and doors closed due to the smoke.”

Two water conveyors and a control unit have been deployed, along with aerial ladder platforms.

People enjoying a Friday evening at nearby places stopped to record footage as flames erupted from the roof of 7bone.

Firefighters, at 9:30 p.m., are still trying to put out the fire.
