Is Elon Musk Following in Amber Heard’s Footsteps?
Billionaire Elon Musk appears to be following in his ex-girlfriend Amber Heard’s footsteps by counter-suing the plaintiff in court.
Amber Heard’s ex-husband Johnny Depp had filed a lawsuit against her over an op-ed in which she was described as a “public figure who represents domestic abuse.”
Heard countersued Depp, asking for $100 million and claiming she suffered “physical violence and rampant abuse” at his hands.
Now, according to the ReutersElon Musk countersued Twitter, intensifying his legal battle against the social media company over its attempt to walk away from the $44 billion buyout.
Musk filed the lawsuit confidentially.
Musk’s lawsuit was filed hours after Delaware Court of Chancery Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick ordered a five-day trial starting Oct. 17 to determine whether Musk can walk away from the deal.
Also on Friday, Musk was sued by a Twitter shareholder who asked the court to order the billionaire to close the deal, find that he breached his fiduciary duty to Twitter shareholders and award damages for the losses he caused.
The lawsuit was filed by Luigi Crispo, owner of 5,500 shares of Twitter, in the Court of Chancery.
