Isle of Man TT RECAP while Peter Hickman claims Superbike victory

Peter Hickman backed the pre-race exaggeration by claiming a dominant victory in the RST SUperbike race on the Isle of Man TT on Saturday.

Hickman had topped the classification with an impressive 132,874 mph lap in the FHO Racing BMW Gas Monkey Garage.

And he took that form in Saturday’s starting race, and achieved an impressive 39,199-second victory over Dean Harrison.

Ballymoney rider Michael Dunlop was third in the drift with 18,427 seconds more with the Hawk Racing GSX-R1000R Suzuki, and reached his 30th podium on the island.

Meanwhile, Glenn Irwin impressed on his Isle of Man TT debut by finishing eighth at Saturday’s Superbike event.

Irwin also became the fastest newcomer to the TT with a top speed of 129.84 mph.

Elsewhere, the scheduled three-lap sidecar race was marked with a red flag just six minutes after an incident between the bottom of Bray Hill and Quarterbridge.

Organizers confirmed shortly afterwards that “there will be no more races today.”

They added in a statement: “We will confirm a new schedule for the race to take place in due course.”
