Celebrity couple Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were married this weekend in Las Vegas, 18 years after their first romance failed, according to court records.
The couple got married Saturday, according to a marriage license they filed in Clark County, Nevada, which was seen by AFP.
The couple – he is 49 and she is 52 – first met on the set of the much-criticized 2002 film “Gigli”.
“Bennifer” – the couple’s public nickname for their first highly publicized relationship – turned on the Internet last year when photos of them together began circulating again.
Lopez posted a video of herself looking emotional and admiring a green ring in her newsletter, “On The JLo.” US media reported that the ring was a pale green diamond cut in emerald.
Lopez talked about his renewed relationship with Affleck in an interview with People in February.
Lopez was previously married to actor Ojani Noa, dancer Cris Judd and singer Marc Anthony, with whom she shares twins Max and Emme, 14.
Gossip news channel TMZ said the couple has been “seemingly inseparable” since they reunited, buying a house together and sometimes accompanying their children.
About the wedding, TMZ put it this way: “They did it like a couple of kids who want to run away, saying ‘yes’ to the desert.”
