The situation, which culminated in a six-figure fine for Washington Commanders’ defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio, first came up with a comment on his Twitter account. And now his Twitter account has been deleted.
Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post spotted it. And, in fact, it is gone.
With the committee’s first public hearing on Jan. 6, Del Rio tried to equate the insurgency with the 2020 riots in a tweet posted Tuesday. The next day, he described the January 6 events as “dust in the Capitol” during a pre-scheduled press conference.
He later apologized for calling the Capitol attack “dusty.” Head coach Ron Rivera then fined Del Rio $ 100,000.
