Manchester City’s Jack Grealish has responded to comments from Nottingham Forest defender Steve Cook after he said he would “complete Jack Grealish” at the promotion celebrations.
Forest secured his return to the Premier League after a 23-year absence on Sunday. A 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town in the play-off final kicked off the party in and around Nottingham. Levi Colwill’s own goal just before the break was enough to separate the two teams.
In the chaos of the celebrations after the full-time whistle at Wembley Stadium, Cook gave an emotional interview to Sky Sports. “I think we’re going to go full Jack Grealish,” he said.

“Obviously we saw the celebrations and dreamed it would be us. It’s the only time I’ll probably be able to be Jack Grealish and enjoy it.”
Defender Forest was referring to videos appearing of the £ 100 million man enjoying the Man City Premier League title celebrations in the days after his team won the league.
When asked about his “Jack Grealish” celebrations during the Forest party, Cook invited the Man City man to give his verdict. “I don’t think they’ve started yet,” he told Sky Sports. “Only Jack Grealish can judge them, I think today.”
“I love him as a player, I love him as a human because he lives life and if we can enjoy that moment as much as he did his, I’ll have a good night.”
These comments have been answered by Grealish, who hopes to face Forest twice next season. “Congratulations !! Enjoy your legend, until next year !!” wrote on Twitter.
Forest will find out when they face Premier League champions, including Grealish, when Premier League matches are posted on June 16, 2022 at 9:00 BST.
