Jamie Carragher has paid tribute to Sadio Mane as he prepares to join Bayern Munich, calling the outgoing striker a true Liverpool legend.
Mane is set to lower the curtain on his career to the Reds after an impressive six-year stint at Merseyside. And his departure came a step further on Friday after Bayern reached a £ 35.1m deal with Liverpool for his services. The 30-year-old had hinted that he was ready to look for a new challenge elsewhere before last month’s Champions League final.
Bayern have moved quickly to secure the Senegalese star, who has scored 120 goals in 269 appearances during his time with Jurgen Klopp’s side. The former Southampton star was one of Klopp’s first signings and has become one of the deadliest strikers in the German Premier League, and Carragher quickly praised the Reds star. Social Networks.

Prior to the emotional message he shared on Friday, Carragher had admitted that it was “sad” to see Liverpool’s deadly trio of attacking attacks finally break up earlier this month. Carragher told Sky Sports: “Liverpool under the direction of Jurgen Klopp usually get the right hire when they spend a lot. The figures we’re talking about are what they spent on goalkeeper and Van Dijk and scored a difference.
“Liverpool need to renew their first line right now due to the age of the top three which has been absolutely fantastic for Liverpool over the last four or five years.

“It’s sad to see him broken in some way, but sooner or later he had to finish and with Sadio Mane looking like he’s going to move on, Liverpool had to do something and he’s the one they’ve identified.”
During his time at the club, Mané won the Premier League, the Champions League, an FA Cup, a League Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup, while also being on the teams that went losing two European Cup finals.
The Reds have already moved to replace Mane after sealing a deal for Benfica player Darwin Núñez earlier this week. Núñez has joined the Reds in a deal that could reach a record £ 85 million after scoring an incredible 26 league goals in 28 games for Benfica last season.
