After President Joe Biden asked the companies that run gas stations to lower the price of gas, Jeff Bezos accused the U.S. president of misleading the public or said he did not have a “basic” understanding of the forces that really they drive up prices.
“Alas. Inflation is too big a problem for the White House to continue making statements like this,” Bezos said in a tweet Saturday evening.
In the initial tweet, Biden made a direct call to gas stations and encouraged them to simply charge less for gas.

“My message to companies that run gas stations and set prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and a global danger. Reduce the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you are paying for the product. . ”Biden said Saturday morning.

The President urged compliance, without any hesitation.
“And do it now,” he ordered.
Bezos said the tweet was very enriching for him and may reveal how little Biden knows about the market.
“It’s a direct misdirection or a deep misunderstanding of the basic dynamics of the market,” Bezos added in his response.

Similarly, comedian Tim Young called Biden’s tweet “full bs.”
“Gas stations don’t control what they can charge,” he added. “People aren’t that stupid.”

Bezos has become an unlikely critic of the Biden administration as Biden continues to try to blame record gas prices on anything before the midterm elections.

Over the past year, Biden has blamed former President Donald Trump and Republican MAGA, Russia and its ongoing war with Ukraine, the coronavirus pandemic, oil-producing companies and now even gas stations, as the Gas prices are the highest ever recorded in US history.

Earlier, Bezos and the White House clashed over rising inflation, which the White House tried to blame big companies like Bezos’ Amazon.
“It’s understandable that they want to obscure the issue,” Bezos tweeted in May. “They know that inflation hurts the most needy. But unions are not causing inflation and neither are rich people.”
