NEW YORK (AP) – Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were married Saturday in a street chapel in Las Vegas, culminating in a relationship that spanned two decades in two separate romances and topped countless tabloid covers.
Lopez announced her marriage Sunday in her fan bulletin titled “We Did.” Lopez initially made his engagement public in April in the same newsletter, “On the J Lo.”
“Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out that love is patient. Twenty years of patience,” Lopez wrote in a message signed Jennifer Lynn Affleck.
Lopez wrote that the couple flew to Las Vegas on Saturday, lined up to get their license with four more couples, and married shortly after midnight at A Little White Wedding Chapel, a chapel that had a “tunnel of love “by car. a Bluetooth speaker played her brief walk down the hallway and called it the best night of their lives.

Lopez, 52, and Affleck, 49, became famous in the early 2000s, and spawned the nickname “Bennifer,” before reactivating their romance last year. They previously starred in “Gigli” from 2003 and “Jersey Girl” from 2004. By that time, they were engaged, but never married.
Affleck married Jennifer Garner in 2005, with whom he shares three children. They divorced in 2018.
Lopez has been married three times before. She briefly married Ojani Noa between 1997 and 1998 and Cris Judd between 2001 and 2003. She and singer Marc Anthony married for a decade after the wedding in 2004 and share 14-year-old twins together.
