“The lives of our families became richer thanks to this beautiful woman. @ Jane13barnes’ mother, Kusumphorn, lived an amazing life and I was lucky enough to be a part of it. You will miss her every day. Rest in peace Yai, “Barnes posted on Twitter.
The loss comes days after Barnes canceled a series of upcoming shows due to a “very serious illness” in the family.
“Our mother died peacefully and I’m grateful she was able to get us together to say goodbye,” Barnes’s wife Jane posted.
“Our family is grateful for the wonderful caregivers and nurses who helped us get through the toughest times. You left in the fall, your favorite time of year. Rest in love now.”
The cause of Kusumphorn’s death has not been revealed.
“Jane, me and our kids now have to be together somewhere else for the next few days as we all say an unexpected goodbye to someone we love,” Barnes posted on May 24th.
“This decision was not taken lightly, but we are confident that people will understand that in times like this, the family really has to come first.”
The tragedy came shortly after Barnes lost his sister Linda in May.
“Thank you for all your messages of condolence for the death of my beautiful sister Linda,” the singer wrote at the time. “This week has been tough and overwhelming. Thank you for your support.”
