Johnny Depp has arrived at Sage Gateshead before appearing as a guest on Jeff Beck’s show.
The Hollywood star was spotted entering the music venue shortly after 3pm on Thursday afternoon. The guitarist, who has been a friend of the actor for some time, was also hooked on leaving the Hilton Hotel in Quayside.
Crowds gathered outside the hotel and the Sage all day to see the 58-year-olds. The last remaining tickets for the show were sold out Wednesday morning after it was announced that it would hit the stage.

Johnny previously surprised members of the public at Sheffield Town Hall on Sunday when he appeared to perform a series of covers. He joined Beck for two nights at London’s Royal Albert Hall before the news broke that he would be on tour for the rest of the UK’s scheduled dates. These are Gateshead, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and York.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star caused a stir among locals on Wednesday night when he met Sam Fender at The Bridge Tavern in Newcastle. He was doing fish and chips at the pub a few hours before the verdict in his defamation case with Amber Heard, which he won.

Pub CEO Quayside told Chronicle Live how Johnny first walked into the pub around 5pm and sat in the corner eating his food. Janine Latchford said she was given a private area upstairs where she met the North Shields singer. Johnny left the place before the verdict of his court case was announced, with Sam later leaving in a Budget taxi.

The 33-year-old, who lives in Jesmond, said: “It was amazing. He gave me a hug and I told him I loved him pretty much as soon as I saw him! he asked me questions about Tyne Bridge He said he had never been to Newcastle before.
“It was definitely the most surreal day of my life! It’s crazy”.
