British supermodel Kate Moss testified in the defamation suit between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard on Wednesday and told the court that her ex-boyfriend never pushed her down any stairs.
Moss was called as a witness by Depp’s legal team after Heard’s testimony that she had feared during one of her arguments that her husband would then push her sister, Whitney Henriquez, down some stairs. She stated that the moment made her think of a rumor she had heard that Depp had done this to Moss when they came out between 1994 and 1998.
“[Whitney’s] her back was on the ladder and Johnny was swinging towards her, “Heard said beforehand in court.” I don’t doubt it, I don’t expect it; I just think of Kate Moss and the stairs in my head. “
Moss de Heard’s mention paved the way for Depp to call the model as a witness to counter this accusation.
Appearing via a video link from Gloucestershire, England, Moss recalled an incident during a vacation with Depp in Jamaica when he slid down some stairs after a rainstorm.
He said Depp was not in the room at the time and came to his aid when he heard her screams.
“I yelled because I didn’t know what had happened to me, and he ran back to help me and took me to my room and got me medical attention,” Moss said.
“Did Mr. Depp push you down the stairs in any way?” Depp’s lawyer, Benjamin Chew, asked.
“No,” Moss replied.
“During your relationship, did it make you down any stairs?” Chew asked.
“No,” Moss replied. “He never pushed me, he didn’t kick me or throw me down any stairs.”
When Chew asked why Moss had chosen to appear as a witness for the first time in a court case, Heard’s attorneys objected that the question was outside the scope of the investigation, an objection held by the judge.
Heard’s lawyers did not question Moss.
