One of the most important questions surrounding the January 6 this month’s Committee hearings is whether Donald Trump’s most loyal supporters will tune in, let alone be open to seeing him in a new light. Only Jordan Klepper of The Daily Show had the idea to bring them the audiences.
On his last shipment from MAGA, Klepper traveled to a Trump rally in Mississippi to find out first if anyone waiting to enter had been watching the audiences and then playing some of the most doomed clips on an iPad and watching of what they made of it. they.
Not surprisingly, he found no one who had been observing the proceedings, and this included a woman in a red Trump visor calling for an “investigation” to prove her theory that Nancy Pelosi was behind the insurgency.
Another couple of young women didn’t even know what Klepper was talking about when he mentioned January 6th. “Election day?” asked one of them. Similarly, they seemed unfamiliar with the term “insurrection.”
Klepper began by showing Trump supporters the clip of former Trump Attorney General Bill Barr, which he called “shit” about allegations of a stolen election. His only explanation for his decision to “activate” Trump is that he was paid to lie.
He then asked the same women who knew nothing about January 6 if they “trust” Ivanka Trump. When they said yes, he showed them the video of her according to Barr’s assessment. After telling them little by little what they had just seen, they simply weren’t willing, nor could they, see the “big lie” as it is.
“That doesn’t even look like her,” another man replied. “What do they have, the clones out there these days? That could be a clone!”
“It’s almost like you’re facing and your brain is spinning to find out, there must be some other reason!” Klepper replied laughing.
