Universal Pictures has released the final trailer for “Nope,” Jordan Peele’s third feature film. It mocks much of the hitherto unknown plot of the film, in which Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya star in the duet behind a horse training ranch for Hollywood productions, which, thanks to the aliens who plan on their property, they plot a plan to capture and sell the first authentic UFO footage. Steven Yeun, Barbie Ferreira, Brandon Perea, Keith David, Donna Mills, Andrew Patrick Ralston and Michael Wincott are also in the film.
“No” follows Peele’s two previous horror films: “Get Out,” which won the 2018 Oscar for Best Original Screenplay and also starred Kaluuya, and “Us,” his 2019 film that popularized the term “tether”, in reference to the performances of the cast as ordinary and demonic versions of their characters. Peele has used the horror genre to comment on social issues, namely racism and xenophobia, and is known for his unwavering attention to detail in his films, which often refer to the work of authors such as Alfred Hitchcock and Stanley Kubrick.
Peele is a producer under his Monkeypaw Productions banner, as well as writing and directing. Ian Cooper also produces “No,” while Robert Graf is the executive producer. The film was shot with Kodak film and, in addition to the usual formats, will also be released in 65mm IMAX format. The director of photography for “Nope” is Hoyte van Hoytema, who recently directed major science fiction films such as “Ad Astra” and “Tenet”.
“No” hits theaters on July 22nd. Watch the final trailer below.
