Justin Bieber says a rare disorder that paralyzed half of his face is the reason for the postponement of his tour.
The winner of several Grammy Awards suffers from Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, he said in a video he posted on Instagram on Friday. The syndrome causes facial paralysis and affects the nerves of the face through an outbreak of shingles.
Bieber’s release comes after he canceled his shows in Toronto and Washington DC. The singer showed in the video that he could barely move one side of his face, calling the disease “quite serious.”
“For those frustrated by my cancellations of upcoming shows, I’m just physically, obviously, I can’t do them,” he said.
“My body tells me I have to slow down. I hope you understand,” he added.
