Canadian musician Justin Bieber says he postponed his upcoming concerts because he suffers from facial paralysis.
In a video posted on Instagram on Friday, Bieber said he suffers from Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which is causing paralysis.

Bieber said it was caused by a virus that attacked the nerves in his ear and face.
According to the Mayo Clinic, Ramsay Hunt Syndrome occurs when a tile outbreak affects the facial nerve near one of the ears.
“In addition to the painful eruption of tiles, Ramsay Hunt syndrome can cause facial paralysis and hearing loss in the affected ear,” the Mayo Clinic website said.

“As you can see, that eye doesn’t blink, I can’t smile on that side of the face, that nostril doesn’t move,” he said in the video.
The news comes just days after Bieber’s Justice Tour announced that two shows at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena and one show in Washington DC would be postponed due to a “non-COVID-related illness.”

In Friday’s video, Bieber said he was “obviously physically unable” to do the shows.
“That’s pretty serious as you can see,” he said. “I wish it wasn’t like that, but obviously my body tells me I have to slow down.”

Bieber said he will use that time to “rest and relax and get back to 100 percent.”
The singer said he is doing facial exercises to help me “get my face back to normal,” adding that he will “get back to normal.”
“I love you guys,” he said. “Thank you for being patient with me.”
