Police confirm a missing Airdrie man has been located and is safe in a case that caught the attention of the global Overwatch gaming community.
Justin ‘Jayne’ Conroy, 29, was last seen Monday morning in the Cooper’s Crossing neighborhood in his hometown. Royal Canadian Mounted Police officials said there were concerns about their welfare.
The RCMP announced Friday morning that Conroy had been found.
Worries were posted on the forums of Overwatch, an online first-person shooter-based video game produced by Blizzard Entertainment, about the demise of the well-known streamer and coach.
Conroy led the Canadian team as head coach toward a third-place finish at the 2018 Overwatch World Cup in Anaheim, California.
The city of Airdrie is less than 10 miles north of the city limits of Calgary.
