KAMLOOPS: A total of $ 40,000 was raised for ELA research following the annual Move to Cure ALS fundraiser at Kamloops and Merritt on Saturday (June 18th).

It’s thanks in part to a group of core volunteers who have been working with the BC ALS Society for nearly two decades, according to Wendy Toyer, executive director of the BC ALS Society.

“I travel all over British Columbia, particularly this month, attending various events, and every time I fly to Kamloops or drive to Kamloops, I really feel like I’m coming home,” Toyer said. “We have more than 30 dedicated volunteers who have been working with us for the past 18 years and continue to do so, to offer our programs, raise awareness and raise funds.”

Tara Lyster co-organized the fundraiser.
