Kanye West breaks Adidas for Yeezy Day, I didn’t approve!

Yeezy Day is here again, and Kanye West is pissed about it … claiming Adidas never got his approval for this year’s event, and talking about several other issues he has with the brand.

The artist explained his issues in an IG message to Complex on Tuesday … which marks the third annual Yeezy Day, where Adidas is re-releasing many of the popular models from the Ye sneaker line over two days.

You didn’t hold back on the Three Stripes, saying, “Adidas came up with the Yeezy Day idea without my approval. Then it went and brought back older styles without my approval.”

The 45-year-old says he didn’t give the brand the “okay” on nearly everything, including colors, names or hiring people who worked for him.

“I went and hired a Yeezy CEO without my approval,” West said. “He took talent on the production side and spread them all over Adidas Originals without my approval.”

Of course, Ye’s anger towards Adidas may stem from his recent beef over the release of his own slides … which he says was a rip-off of the Yeezy slides.

Ye also talks about this in the post … saying, “When I originally asked Adidas to make more Yeezy slides, the CEO lied to my face and said they didn’t have the capacity.”

“Meanwhile, Adidas was copying my slides and making their own versions of the Yeezy slide.”

“Yeezy is 68% of Adidas’ online sales,” Ye said. “God intervene.”

The collaboration between Ye and Adidas began in 2015, when the first “Boost 750” model was released. In 2020, Ye’s sneakers earned nearly $1.7 billion in annual revenue.

Kanye signed a new deal with Adidas that runs through 2026 … so it might be time for a reunion.
