Kate Middleton bears a striking resemblance to Princess Diana at Royal Ascot

Prince William and Kate Middleton have led arrivals at Royal Ascot this afternoon, with the Duchess looking at the image of Princess Diana.

Kate wore a polka dot dress to this year’s races that looked like the one her late mother-in-law wore to the track in 1988.

And now, 34 years later, the Duke and Duchess have reached the first carriage of this year’s event amid the sweltering heat that has hit the southern half of the UK today.

William’s suit was covered with a cheerful black top hat as they both greeted the crowd.

Meanwhile, the Queen’s grandson, Peter Phillips, arrived at Berkshire Racecourse with his girlfriend Lindsay Wallace in the second carriage.

He was seen with his new girlfriend at the Epsom Derby as part of the Jubilee celebrations earlier this month.

The queen appeared in Lindsay earlier this year after her divorce from his ex-wife Autumn, the Mirror reported.

It is understood that the 96-year-old monarch first met her after a shooting party in Windsor in a sign that the couple was “talking seriously”.

A privileged royal person said that the queen is “one of the most important people in Peter’s life”, so it is “right” to introduce him to his new girlfriend.

Members of the royal family, such as Prince Charles and Camilla, Princess Anne and Zara Tindall, have already enjoyed a day at the world-famous reunion.

The hon. Arthur Vestey and Mrs. Vesty, who arrived in the same carriage with William and Kate, also arrived as part of the royal procession today.

The Duke and Duchess of Bedford arrived in the second carriage with Peter Phillips and Lindsay Wallace.

The third carriage had the Viscount and Viscountess Brookeborough, and Mr. and Mrs. Darby Dennis.

The fourth and final carriage included Mr. and Mrs. Richard Osgood along with Mr. and Mrs. Nico de Boinville.

Races taking place this afternoon on the fourth day of Royal Ascot include the 2.30 Albany Stakes, the 3.05 Commonwealth Cup, the 3.40 Duke of Edinburgh Stakes and the 4.20 Coronation Stakes.

Sandringham stakes will take place at 5pm, King Edward VII stakes at 5:35 pm and Holyroodhouse Palace stakes from 6:10 pm.

The strict rules of dress will cease to be in force after the royal procession, which is led by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Knights will be allowed to take off their jackets, ties and hats at all venues during the afternoon, which includes Group 1 coronation stakes.

The horses that will compete in the seven races will also be cooled in a special area with nebulizing fans after a recent six-figure reversal.
