Katy Perry leaves a big tip to the waitress who didn’t recognize her at the cafe

Katy Perry has left a generous tip for an Australian waitress who “made a fool of herself” while serving the singer at a Port Douglas coffee shop.

The superstar is currently in Australia with her partner, Orlando Bloom, who is shooting a movie called Wizards! in the far north of Queensland.

Indianna Paull told Sunrise that Perry showed up for work on Saturday while holding her one-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove.

The waitress, who at first did not recognize the fireworks hitmaker because she was wearing a hat and sunglasses, told the star that she would have to wait to sit down because there were no tables available.

“She handled it like any normal person would, I guess. She was very nice all the time and handled it like a champion,” he said Thursday.

“I think partly because I didn’t recognize her was why she was so relaxed and calm.”

Paull said Perry asked for a table again when the paparazzi and customers began “taking pictures” of him, so he reluctantly sat down with the star in a part of the cafeteria that is not normally used.

“I fooled myself and said, ‘For future reference, we don’t usually sit people at this table.’

A grateful Perry responded by saying she would be “very kind”.

Paull said she only realized she was serving one of the world’s greatest musicians when her manager alerted her to the superstar client.

“I turned red and was lame on my knees,” he said.

“I probably didn’t need to, but I felt like a fool, so I went to his table and apologized.

“I don’t know why, I was just amazed that I acted like a casual hit!”

Paull said she “couldn’t believe how nice” Perry was and confirmed that the singer left a tip that was “much more than the usual $ 2 they throw at us in the bucket.”

“He asked me my name and had a conversation with me and when he left he walked around the cafeteria and hugged me and was very kind to everyone.

“It was crazy.”

It comes after Perry and Bloom were photographed arriving at Sydney Airport last week before heading north in a private jet.

They brought their daughter and 11-year-old Bloom son, Flynn, who she shares with former Miranda Kerr, for the Aussie trip.

Bloom is expected to join comedian Pete Davidson and other stars on the Wizards set! over the next few months.

Announced earlier this year, local production of the new film was secured with $ 3.6 million in funding from the Federal Government’s Localization Incentive Program.

The Queensland government also contributed an additional $ 1.183 billion to its production attraction strategy.

The film will be followed by two beach bar operators, played by Davidson and German actor Franz Rogowski, who get into trouble when they come across a stolen loot.

Prime Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk said the production was a “coup d’etat” for the state, injecting about $ 14.7 million into the local economy and creating about 100 jobs.

“Once again, our local film industry and perfect image locations have attracted another valuable production with large budgets to spend in our regions.”

Sunrise star Sam Mac responded to the critic by asking “what do you do all day”?
