The city of Kelowna closes Appaloosa Road all summer long to allow for utility upgrades.
The road will be closed from May 31 until the end of October between Arab Road and Academy Way.
“The works include improvements to utilities and electrical works along with sidewalk and asphalt improvements,” a city press release said.
A new road will also be built, Palomino Road, between Arab and Academy, parallel to Appaloosa. The developer will work to maintain access to residents ’properties during construction and will report if any access is limited as the project progresses.
“Please obey traffic control and diversion routes as published,” the city notice said. “Every effort should be made to minimize interruptions during construction. The patience and cooperation of motorcyclists during this work is appreciated.”
