Of course, Kenny Atkinson has decided not to take the position of head coach with the Charlotte Hornets. Atkinson will stay with the Golden State Warriors as Steve Kerr’s assistant coach.
At some point in the last week, after further discussions with the Charlotte organization, Atkinson decided not to accept the Hornets’ job. Atkinson reportedly decided it would be best for him to professionally and personally stay with the Warriors.
Charlotte will now resume her search for head coach. His other two finalists, Mike D’Antoni and Terry Stotts, are still available. At this time, it is unclear whether D’Antoni or Stotts are still interested in coaching the Hornets.
