Kevin Spacey “could be extradited to the UK” amid new sexual charges

Disgraced Hollywood star Kevin Spacey could be forced to return to the UK after being charged with a series of new sexual assaults.

Fallen Hollywood star Kevin Spacey could be extradited to Britain to face four sexual charges in a matter of weeks, according to experts.

The 62-year-old double Oscar winner is wanted back in the UK by British authorities, who will ask for formal extradition unless he returns voluntarily.

Extradition experts said Guardian that U.S. police could be sent to find Spacey soon and arrest him on behalf of British authorities, The Sun reported.

He is accused of sexually assaulting three young men, but can only be formally charged if he returns to Britain.

U.S. Department of Justice officials must agree that there was a probable cause that the alleged crimes were committed before ordering police to locate and arrest him.

And only charges agreed by a U.S. court could be filed against him in Britain.

CPS ex-extradition chief Nick Vamos said Spacey could be sent back in a few weeks if he doesn’t answer the extradition and months if he does.

He also said Spacey would have more protections if he was formally extradited than if he wanted to return voluntarily.

He added: “If he returns to the UK, he could get a bail package that will allow him to return to the US.”

It is last known that the American actor was in the UK more than 20 months ago.

Last week, police gave their approval to charge Spacey with four counts of sexual assault on three male complainants, all in their 30s and 40s.

He is accused of a fifth charge against one of them for allegedly causing them to have penetrating sex without consent, a rape-like offense and punishable by a maximum life sentence.

The alleged crimes date back to when Spacey was artistic director of Old Vic in London between 2004 and 2015.

Three of the alleged sexual assaults are said to have taken place in London between 2005 and 2008, and the fourth in Gloucestershire in 2013.

The penetrating sex crime was allegedly committed in the capital in 2008.
