Pat Rogers Towing owner has confirmed that everyone is safe and unharmed after a fire in his demolition yard Monday afternoon.

Kingston Fire and Rescue was called to the courtyard at 2753 Creekford Rd. around 2:30 p.m., and Kingston police joined in a few minutes later. Police have asked drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area.

Tony Rogers said employees were in the process of dismantling and dismantling vehicles inside a 40-by-60-foot building.

“It was certainly accidental, but I don’t have all the details on how it started,” Rogers told the Whig-Standard by phone.

Rogers said the building is made of concrete blocks but has wooden trusses.
