When you play a major, the last thing you want is for one of your clubs to break in a strange accident. But that’s what happened to LPGA player Emma Talley during the first round of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in Congress.

Talley, a former U.S. amateur female champion, was on the sixth green when that happened.
He lost a putt and decided to get some frustration out of his flat stick. But not so much that she thought it was going to hurt her and leave her useless.
In fact, he just touched the putter on his foot, he said. “I hit my putter on the toe, but it wasn’t even that hard. That’s why I’m so upset because I wish I’d broken it for madness, but it wasn’t even that hard. That’s what he sucked. “

From that moment on, television coverage showed that the 28-year-old had to resort to using her wedge for the rest of the round.
Golf Channel footage appeared to show Talley baffled after the incident. After leaving the eighth green (his 17th of the day), he can be seen wiping away his tears.
He finished the initial round at 6 above par, which at the time of writing was four strokes from the cut line.
