Kyden Leadbeater named locally as an 18-year-old murdered in the M606

Kyden Leadbeater, 18, was a passenger in a van traveling in the wrong direction on the M606 and got into a taxi, killing the driver and his client.

The 15-year-old driver of the Ford Transit van, suspected of being stolen, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A tribute to Kyden on Facebook says: “I will thank you forever for taking care of my family as if I were your own boyfriend, I can’t believe it.

“I can’t believe you left, boy very polite and polite, he was like my little brother, I don’t know what else to say thinking about your family at this sad time.”

Another said, “So many memories that I will keep forever.”

Tributes have also been paid to the other victims; Sohail Ali, a 28-year-old taxi driver, and his passenger, Simon McHugh, 49.

In a statement issued this afternoon, West Yorkshire Police said: “Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of causing dangerous driving death following a serious collision in Bradford.

“Officers were called to a serious collision between a van and a taxi at 10.45pm last night (June 13) on the M606.

“Two men aged 28 and 49 who were going in the taxi were pronounced dead at the scene.

“An 18 – year – old passenger in the van died at the hospital this morning.

“Another passenger in the van, a 17-year-old boy, is in hospital with serious but not fatal injuries.

“The 15-year-old driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, but remains in hospital with serious but not fatal injuries.”
