Labor is expected to win over Macnamara, forming a majority government

In Gilmore, on the south coast of NSW, Labor MP Fiona Phillips had a nearly 150-vote lead over Liberal rival Andrew Constance, who seeks to move from the NSW state parliament to federal politics.

Absenteeism, interim and statement polls on Monday flowed sharply to Phillips, who was behind Constance by nearly 250 votes on Sunday evening.

Labor leader Anthony Albanese was sworn in as prime minister last week after Labor won enough seats to form a majority or minority government.

The Coalition currently has 57 seats, independent candidates have 10 and Greens have four, while other candidates have two. One more seat, Deakin in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, remains in doubt, but Liberal leader Michael Sukkar had a 619-vote lead over Labor candidate Matt Gregg on Monday night.
