Subway service has been suspended along part of Line 2 due to a fire investigation at Bloor-Yonge Station.
The fire was first reported just after 7am
It was initially believed to be relatively minor, but Toronto Fire says an electrical engineer and TTC supervisor have now been called in due to some “electrical combustion.”
Service is currently suspended between the stations of St. George and Pape because of the problem, although there are shuttle buses.
The TTC says there is no timetable for the restoration of subway service at this time.
Meanwhile, police are asking drivers to use caution along Danforth Avenue due to large crowds that have formed outside Broadview and Pape stations due to service suspension.
“Crowd of people walking into traffic,” police said in a message posted on Twitter.
