Last-minute MacBook Air leaks hint at a delayed release and new colors

New reports suggest that Apple may unveil a new MacBook Air 2022 today during the WWDC 2022 conference.

However, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple may decide on a “non-immediate release date” with the closure of Covid-related factories in China that apparently lead to production delays.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has backed those claims by suggesting that the MacBook Air will not be shipped until the second half of 2022, with the goal of launching between 6 and 7 million units.

Mark Gurman has also revealed that Apple may launch two new colors for the MacBook Air, including the “dark blue” and “champagne-like gold” options. Apple will also retain the classic space gray and silver colors if you prefer a more understated design.

This means that the MacBook Air will not have as many color options as the latest 24-inch iMac, contradicting previous rumors from people like Jon Prosser.

So what can we expect to see from the new MacBook Air? It has been proposed to see a major makeover, with a thinner and lighter design, as well as a potential notch to make it look more like the latest MacBook Pro.

It looks like the next MacBook Air is sticking to the existing Apple M1 processor, so you won’t see a performance update. A new M2 chip had been unveiled, but Apple’s second-generation Silicon processor is not expected to arrive until 2023.

Of course, all this is based on rumors and speculation right now, but potentially we will not have to wait long to know the official details of Apple. Stay tuned for trusted reviews for all the latest news and developments.
