A motorcyclist has been flown to a hospital in the Toronto area after a serious accident in North Kawartha Township.
The collision occurred around 8 a.m. Saturday on Northeys Bay Road on Fire Route 19.
According to the OPP, the drivers of the motorcycle and a car collided head-on and the motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries.
Northeys Bay Highway is currently closed between Highway 28 and County Highway 6 while police investigate.
Officers trained in the collision reconstruction are now at the scene, which is about 50 miles northeast of Peterborough, measuring and documenting the incident.
The closure is expected to last several hours.
Police said the cause of the crash was “under investigation” at the moment.
